It is the primary defensive position for 50/50. It has 2 main functions: - Use our outside thigh as a wedge on the opponent's inside knee to prevent it from inverting and going to more dangerous positions. - Remove the exposure of our heel. We should never allow the shoe lace of our primary leg to be directly in contact with the opponent, so we put our secondary leg on top of it. From this position we should be looking forward to separate the opponent's legs and launch our own attacks.
